You can now register for a number of Cambridge Online Professional Development training courses. Courses run from February to April 2017 and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: How long will the course last? A: Each course will last 5-7 weeks. Teachers are expected to spend 2-3 hours each week on the course.
Q: How will the trainer lead the course? A: Although the courses are led by an experienced Cambridge trainer, they do not carry out any direct tuition. There are no webinars or live presentations. During the course the trainer will lead discussions, provide guidance to teachers and answer questions. Every week there will be a number of reflective and collaborative activities which will be let by the trainer as well.
Q:What do I have to do to receive a certificate? A: In order to complete the course and receive a certificate, teachers must participate fully in all of the activities. The attached document includes more information about the aims and the structure of the course.
Q: How shall I plan my time for this training? A: The guided time of 2-3 hours per week is an estimate and includes: ·time spent studying the interactive online modules ·time spent carrying out the reflective activities (these may include reflective activities away from the computer) ·time spend interacting with colleagues in the collaborative activities ·time spent producing a class activity in Module 3 ·time spent developing a plan in Module 3 We recommend that teachers access the course on a daily basis. We also advise teachers to look at the self-study activities at the beginning of the week to allow time for the collaborative activities in the second half of the week
Q: What platform will you use to deliver the course? A: The courses are hosted on our Professional Development Learning Community, which is on Moodle, a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The Moodle VLE allows us to track and record participation.
